Why MONO VPN NaiveProxy and SSTP

One subscription includes two connection profiles. NaiveProxy is the default: the connection looks like regular HTTPS. SSTP is a fallback path over TLS on 443. If the first one is unstable on your network, switch to the second one - without a second purchase.

How to use it

After signing up, select “3 days” and choose “Continue for free”. Get 3 days of access with no payment card or mandatory channel subscription. Your NaiveProxy profile, backup SSTP profile and setup guides will appear in your account.

After changing the protocol, request the link again and open it in the client for this profile: the set of programs for NaiveProxy and SSTP is different, except for Mac - they both go through MONO Connect.

NaiveProxy - why is it by default

NaiveProxy uses the Chromium network stack. On the surface, it looks like regular HTTPS to a real website, rather than a separate “VPN protocol.” Filters like DPI and TSPU have a harder time picking up a signature from such a stream than from typical VPN or proxy handshakes. That's why NaiveProxy is the first profile in MONO VPN.

We do not promise specific speeds or say that the protocol will “never be blocked.” The networks are different. But the task here is narrow: to look like Chrome, which runs over HTTPS.

SSTP is the second way, also via HTTPS

SSTP is PPP inside TLS, usually on port 443. Outside it is also similar to HTTPS, but the implementation is different. On Windows, the client is already built-in. If NaiveProxy is behaving erratically on a particular network, SSTP is often brought up as a quiet fallback option. Both profiles live in the same account.

Why not WireGuard

WireGuard is a great modern VPN: simple, fast, well-reviewed. He has another strong side. WireGuard packages have a recognizable signature. On networks that actively classify VPN traffic, naked WireGuard is often noticed earlier than protocols disguised as regular HTTPS. MONO VPN does not provide WireGuard configs.

Why not VLESS

VLESS is a family of Xray and V2Ray. How stable it is depends heavily on the transport: Reality, WebSocket, gRPC, and so on. This is a popular stack and it has its advantages. MONO VPN does not issue it: we have put together a different path. NaiveProxy's goal is to look like Chrome that speaks HTTPS. This is a narrower and more specific disguise than just a VLESS link.

How to switch

  1. Open your account on the website or in the Mini App.
  2. On the main page, change the protocol NaiveProxy ↔ SSTP.
  3. Copy the new profile.
  4. Import it into a client that matches the platform and protocol.
  5. Disable the old profile to prevent two VPNs from arguing over the route.

If you raise your own node, it is no longer a user subscription. There are instructions for self-analysis NaiveProxy And SSTP.
